The bridge of Tukad Bangkung (Indonesian name: Jembatan Tukad Bangkung) is the highest bridge in Indonesia also in ASEAN. Tukad Bangkung Bridge is located in Plaga Village, Petang District, Badung Regency, Bali - Indonesia. It was also claimed as the highest bridge in Asia.
This bridge was opened on December 19 2006. Tukad Bangkung bridge is the longest bridge in Bali, that connected three regencies, respectively Badung, Bangli, and Buleleng. So, it also can connecting both tourism area of Kintamani in Bangli regency to bedugul in Tabanan Regency, by the availibility of the bridge, then peoples or tourist who want to travel on to both tourism area shall not going through crowded traffic and danger road any longer.
Tukad Bangkung bridge had long 360 metre, wide 9,6 metre, with the highest pillar reached 71,14 metre, and the foundation of the pillar 41 metre under the land. The bridge technology balanced cantilever, with the estimate of the age with for 100 years. The bridge was not built with the roof above, so the people can enjoy the beautiful scenary around it. The construction of the bridge was estimated kept towards the earthquake until 7 Richter scales. The bridge replaced old bridge that his location was 500 metre in the south of Bridge of Tukad Bangkung.
More than Rp. 49 billion of fund needed to build this bridge. The fund came fully from APBD of Bali Province, with the multiyears with the multiyears system since 2001.
